Episode 580 with guest Phyl Macomber

Since completing a fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Kennedy-Krieger Institute in 1988, Phyl Macomber has become an award- winning keynote speaker, bestselling author, and education specialist. Phyl has consulted with and trained thousands of teaching staff around the world. She was featured in the international best seller, the Common Threads Trilogy book series, as one of the top 100 empowering women from around the globe for being a passionate catalyst for systems change in education. In addition, Phyl worked with the television crew of ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with onsite identification, delivery, and set-up of design and technologies for a child in his new home, which was being built by this network.

Phyl has been a guest on numerous radio shows, including CBS Radio’s People Of Distinction Show, to discuss simplifying instruction for students of all abilities. She serves in two ambassadorships: the first for the educational affairs organization, I AM Living Education Everyday (I AM L.E.E.) and the second at Energime University, based in Manhattan. Phyl hosts her own monthly podcast show, Every Child Can Learn, which provides simple solutions to everyday problems in education.

Phyl’s partnership with South Africa-based Leave No Girl Behind International involves training young people in key leadership principles globally. She also holds one of the only two U.S. appointments on the Board of Directors for the Leave No Girl Behind School of Leadership.

Phyl has created a simple 4-step system for how to teach anything to anyone, called T.H.E. P.A.C.T., which is outlined in Phyl’s first book, The Power of T.H.E. P.A.C.T. Since the framework’s inception in 2009, her research-based teaching strategies have been published in numerous articles featured in education publications. T.H.E. P.A.C.T. is being successfully used across North America, in both the United States and Canada, and in parts of Australia, England, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and various countries in Africa.

Phyl’s newest book, Every Child Can Learn, is an Amazon #1 bestseller in eight educational categories. It is a research-based “How-To” guide for teaching students of all abilities – from gifted to special needs – and has been referred to as “common sense education” by educators from around the globe.
